About the Opportunity
TDS Industrial Services is looking for two full-time roles in steel detailing, a Project Coordinator and a Sr. Project Manager, based in Surrey, B.C.
In these roles, you’ll coordinate or oversee steel detailing projects from start to finish, ensuring seamless communication between TDS, fabricators, architects, engineers, and overseas detailing teams. Reporting directly to senior leadership, you will be responsible for maintaining project timelines, quality standards, and client satisfaction across a range of structural projects.
More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Coordinating steel detailing projects from conception through to completion
- Collaborating with architects, engineers, and stakeholders to align on project goals
- Developing and monitoring project schedules in collaboration with production staff
- Identifying and reporting project risks and opportunities
- Managing and documenting project change orders
- Checking models and drawings for accuracy and quality
- Ensuring project deliverables are met on time and to standard
- Supporting the integration of fabrication technologies and standards
- Communicating effectively with overseas detailing teams and providing clear updates to all relevant internal and external stakeholders
About You
To qualify for the Project Coordinator role, you will need a minimum of 7 years of steel detailing and project coordination experience.
To qualify for the Project Manager role, you will need a solid foundation in steel detailing and project oversight. A minimum of 10 years of steel detailing experience, and 5 years of checking experience are essential, along with deep familiarity with industry standards and a history of leading complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:
- Knowledge of steel detailing standards and practices for CISC & AISC
- Experience with Tekla Structures
- Understanding of fabrication technologies
- Experience coordinating with overseas detailers
- Track record of managing change orders and communicating updates effectively
- Ability to assess project risks and opportunities
- Understanding of CNC file formats and BIM-ready model outputs
